Ford Remote Start provides Conway drivers with greater freedom, allowing them to turn on their new Ford vehicle via a key fob or smartphone so that it’s warmed up and ready to go when you are. Curious as to how to use Ford Remote Start? Wondering what other features are available when you combined Ford SYNC technology? This guide from Beach Ford should help!

What Does Ford Remote Start Do?

Ford Remote Access is granted with a button on your key fob or from the FordPass app on your smartphone. With Ford Remote Start, in particular, you can turn on your engine before you get behind the wheel, so that your car can warm up on a cold Murrells Inlet day without you having to brave the elements to do so. The result? Sliding into a warm, toasty cabin.

How Can You Use Ford Remote Start with SYNC?

Most Ford models now come with Ford SYNC infotainment, which means that you can use Ford Remote Start with Calendar. This allows you to schedule a remote start any day or time. Additional Ford Remote Access features:

  • Lock and Unlock: If you’re worried about security or need to let someone in, just tap a button to lock or unlock the doors.
  • Vehicle Location: With FordPass, you can save the vehicle’s location to prevent getting lost in Florence store parking lots.
  • Vehicle Status Report: Whether you want to check miles until your next service or the fuel level, you can do it all on your mobile device.

How to Use Ford Remote Start

Using Ford Remote Start is easy, especially once it is enabled. You can do so via the information display in your vehicle, as well as configure automatic climate control to your preferred temperature.

From there, follow these steps on how to use Ford Remote Start:

Vehicle Start

  • Lock the doors with your key fob.
  • Press the remote start button twice.
  • If successful, exterior lamps will flash twice. Otherwise, the horn will sound to signal failure.

Vehicle Shut Down

  • Press the remote start button once to turn off the vehicle.
  • Exterior lamps will shut down.

Additionally, some Ford models come equipped with memory functionality. If so, remotely starting your Ford will adjust the seating, mirror, and steering column to your preferred positions, so long as they are pre-set.
